Overview
This dental implant course is designed for dentists who are new to implant dentistry or have limited implant or oral surgery experience, and who are not registered with the General Dental Council.
Under UK regulations, dentists must be GDC registered to treat patients in the UK. The UK + Egypt Route lets you complete the same foundation training as our UK route delegates, then carry out your live patient implant placement in Egypt, under the supervision of experienced implant mentors.
Across 8 UK modules and one intensive surgical week, you will develop your knowledge and skills in patient assessment, case selection, treatment planning and implant placement, with a strong focus on evidence-based, predictable outcomes.
GDC registered? Our “Certificate in Dental Implantology – UK Route” lets you complete all 16 modules in the UK, placing and restoring implants on your own patients. Explore More.
Structure and learning experience
The course combines 8 in-person foundation modules in the UK with one intensive week of supervised live patient surgery in Egypt.
The UK modules develop your foundations in implant dentistry, covering implant sciences, patient assessment and treatment planning, surgical and restorative techniques, alongside dedicated Level 1 and Level 2 CBCT training to strengthen your diagnostic and treatment-planning skills. You train alongside our UK route delegates, with the same faculty.
You then travel to Egypt for your surgical week, where you place 15 implants on live patients under the supervision of experienced implant mentors. This lets you apply what you have learned to real clinical cases, with guidance at every stage.
Clinical focus and outcomes
Clinical training focuses on appropriate patient and case selection, restoratively driven treatment planning, CBCT and digital planning, surgical preparation and safe implant placement.
You will develop practical skills in surgical setup, anaesthesia, incision and flap design, drilling protocols, implant placement and suturing, then put them into practice across 15 supervised placements in Egypt.
By the end of the programme, you will have a strong foundation in the surgical aspects of implant dentistry, the experience of 15 live placements, and a clear route to progress to the Certificate in Advanced Dental Implantology.
