Dr Hugo Grancho Pinto

Hugo is a registered specialist in periodontics with the General Dental Council and focuses his clinical practice on the diagnosis and treatment, both nonsurgical and surgical, of gum disease, aesthetic periodontal surgery, and implant dentistry.

Hugo is the lead tutor for the Certificate in Dental Implantology course at Tipton Training and also leads our online Perio course, sharing his expertise with dentists nationally and internationally. 

He qualified as a dentist from the University of Lisbon, practiced general dentistry for a couple of years, and has been working exclusively in private practice in the areas of periodontology and implant dentistry since 2006.

Hugo completed a three-year full-time Specialist Training Program in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry in Lisbon, holds a Diploma in Clinical Periodontology from Gothenburg University, and completed a Post-Graduation in Implant Dentistry at the Oral Rehabilitation Institute in Lisbon.

He is an academic clinical lecturer in the postgraduate program in periodontics at the University of Manchester and was a lecturer in the Periodontology Department at the University of Lisbon until 2008. Hugo also lectures nationally and internationally on periodontics and implant dentistry.

He is an active member of the British Society of Periodontology, American Academy of Periodontology, and Portuguese Association of Periodontology and Implants.

Outside dentistry, Hugo enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing tennis, and travelling around the world.
