Dr Paul Mandon-Gassman

Paul qualified from Sheffield in 1987 and moved to Kent in 1994. He has worked at his current practice since 1998, becoming a co-owner in 2002 and achieving Denplan Excel Accreditation in 2004.

For over 20 years, Paul has sought out some of the world’s leading teachers in cosmetic, reconstructive and functional dentistry to develop the skills he now offers patients at Sturry Dental Practice in Canterbury, Kent. He also created the Exclusive Smiles brand to showcase the best that modern dentistry has to offer. Alongside his private practice, Paul provides sessions at Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital for Medway Community Healthcare as a Dental Officer treating patients with special needs.

As a former full member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD), Paul has extensive experience treating a wide range of cosmetic concerns, from simple tooth whitening to full smile makeovers. He previously served on the BACD membership, communication and congress committees. Paul is known for his conservative approach to dentistry, focusing on long-term aesthetic results achieved through minimal intervention. This philosophy is often reflected in his use of orthodontic systems to align teeth before completing a final smile makeover.

Paul has a special interest in the treatment of head, neck and facial pain and its relationship to poor jaw function. He is a member of the British Society of Occlusal Studies (BSOS), an organisation dedicated to helping practitioners treat and prevent these common conditions. Membership is by invitation only and requires completion of a rigorous training programme that typically takes five years. Paul has lectured to dentists and technicians on the subject and has delivered hands-on courses covering facebow use and jaw registration.

He is also an opinion leader for Ivoclar Vivadent, where he lectures and tutors hands-on courses covering composites, cements and tooth preparation for the Emax ceramic system.

Paul is passionate about helping patients understand what modern dentistry can offer. As the number one ‘Active Dentist’ on the award-winning patient education website All About Teeth, he regularly answers public questions on a wide range of dental concerns. He is also a member of the Association of Dental Implantology UK (ADI), a registered charity dedicated to providing ongoing implant education for professionals and improving public understanding of dental implants.

In addition, Paul is a full member of the Tipton Training Dental Academy, which provides access to the latest scientific knowledge and clinical techniques in dentistry. He has also been invited by Professor Paul Tipton to act as a Study Club Chairperson for the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry.
