Overview
The ORE Part 2 Preparation Course is a clinically focused programme designed for overseas dentists who have already passed ORE Part 1 and are now preparing for the practical component of the GDC registration exam. Part 2 evaluates your ability to perform dental procedures safely and effectively under exam conditions, interpret clinical cases, communicate with patients and plan comprehensive treatment. This preparation course offers a structured, hands-on experience that mirrors the real exam, giving candidates both the skills and confidence to succeed.
Structure and learning experience
Tipton Training delivers ORE Part 2 preparation through two complementary formats. The four-day Manikin Course provides intensive hands-on clinical practice using phantom heads to simulate operative stations. The three-day OSCE & Treatment Planning Course focuses on structured clinical scenarios, patient communication, diagnosis and treatment plans using exam-style OSCE stations. Candidates can choose either course individually or opt for a combined package that includes both, enabling thorough preparation across all facets of the ORE Part 2. Live, in-person instruction is supported by expert feedback, guided review sessions and access to additional revision materials that reinforce learning before and after the classroom components.
Clinical focus and outcomes
The course’s clinical focus aligns directly with the practical components of the ORE Part 2 exam. Delegates refine operative techniques such as cavity preparations, restorations and extractions on manikins, practice simulated OSCE stations under timed conditions, and develop treatment plans that reflect real-world case complexity. By the end of the programme, candidates will have strengthened their clinical reasoning, operative skills, decision-making under pressure and patient management approach in ways that closely mirror the expectations of the official exam.
Qualification Pathways
This preparation course is the second stage in Tipton Training’s overseas pathway toward UK dental registration. After passing Part 2, candidates are eligible to pursue full registration with the General Dental Council. Many delegates go on to join UK dental practice or pursue further postgraduate clinical qualifications following successful registration.
