For the first time, Tipton Training is bringing its Certificate in Dental Implantology to Scotland, with a new cohort starting in June 2026 at Care Dental Implant Clinic.

This expansion makes structured implant education more accessible to dentists across Scotland and the North of the UK, while maintaining the clinical standards and hands-on teaching approach associated with Tipton Training.

A new clinical base in Crieff

Based in Perth and Kinross, our new Crieff setting provides a fully operational implant clinic environment where delegates train within day-to-day clinical practice. Implant dentistry is already embedded within the running of the clinic, supported by digital workflows, surgical systems and an integrated team structure.

This allows delegates to learn in context, observing and participating in real treatment pathways from planning through to restoration.

Led by an expert clinical team

The Scotland cohort brings together an experienced teaching faculty, with clinical and theoretical training delivered across the programme.

Core theory modules are led by Dr Maria Hardman and Dr Hugo Grancho Pinto, providing a structured foundation in case assessment, treatment planning and restorative principles.

Live surgical training is led by Dr Bruce Strickland, founder of Care Dental Implant Clinic. With over 30 years in implant dentistry and more than 12,000 implants placed, he has developed extensive expertise across both surgical and restorative treatment within a high-volume, fully integrated clinical environment.

His teaching centres on guiding clinicians through real patient cases, with a focus on building confidence in decision-making alongside practical surgical skills.

What the Certificate in Dental Implantology delivers

The programme is designed for dentists looking to introduce implant treatment into their practice or develop existing skills in a structured, supported way.

Across 12 months, delegates follow a programme combining seminars, practical training and supervised live patient treatment.

Key areas include:

  • Patient assessment, case selection and treatment planning

  • CBCT interpretation and diagnostics (Level 1 & 2 training included)

  • Surgical fundamentals including flap design, suturing and implant placement

  • Perioperative protocols and safe clinical workflows

  • Hands-on training supported by live demonstrations

Live patient experience at the core

A defining feature of the programme is its focus on supervised live surgery, where delegates move beyond simulation and into real clinical treatment under expert guidance. Each participant works through a structured series of cases, allowing skills to develop gradually while maintaining close clinical oversight at every stage.

Delegates complete 8 supervised live surgery sessions, treating their own patients within the supportive environment of Care Dental Implant Clinic. This includes the full pathway from assessment and treatment planning through to surgical placement and post-operative review, with input at each step to support decision-making and technique.

The approach is designed to build familiarity with the full implant workflow in a controlled and progressive way. As confidence grows, so does responsibility, with mentorship tailored to each delegate’s pace and experience level. This ensures that clinical development is steady, structured and directly transferable to everyday practice.

Ongoing mentorship and support

Learning continues between modules, with ongoing mentorship throughout the year. Delegates also have access to additional patient days and clinical support, helping to reinforce learning in real practice settings.

This ongoing guidance supports case management, treatment planning and confidence as implant dentistry becomes part of everyday clinical work.

A new opportunity for Scottish dentists

The introduction of our Crieff cohort reflects a wider commitment to making high-quality implant training more accessible across the UK.

For dentists in Scotland and surrounding regions, it provides the opportunity to train locally within a fully functioning implant clinic while learning directly from one of the UK’s most experienced implant clinicians.

June 2026 marks the beginning of a new Scotland-based intake - structured, practical and designed to support long-term clinical confidence in implant dentistry.
