The courses at Tipton Training will enable you to develop your theoretical knowledge and practical skills to achieve great results for your patients.
Below are just a few examples of the results achievable through the different cosmetic techniques which we will teach.
For more examples of Dr Tipton’s work, you can visit his website at the Centre For Advanced Dentistry – Yorkshire.
For patients who do not want to complete lengthy orthodontic treatment veneers can offer the perfect solution – perfect straight teeth in just two visits.
Veneers are used to permanently lighten and straighten teeth. They are usually used to treat crooked or slanted teeth, gaps between teeth and stained or worn teeth. Veneers are constructed using ultra-thin translucent porcelain which is shade matched to the natural tooth colour (or lighter) and bonded to the front surface of the tooth, with or without tooth preparation. Veneers as a treatment can rejuvenate a patient’s smile and they can be used on both upper and lower teeth.
Dr Tipton has been recognised for the beauty and quality of his veneer work. His case studies are now used in the patient literature that the British Dental Health Foundation produces and which is used nationwide to educate patients as to the benefits of veneers.
Crowns are constructed to restore teeth that are heavily filled, discoloured, broken or mal-aligned. Crowning involves removing more of the tooth than for veneers and replacing it with a colour matched porcelain ‘cap' to mimic the natural tooth.
Old crowns were traditionally made using a metal substructure which accounts for the black lines you often see around the top of the crown where it meets the gum area. This metal substructure also makes a crown look false, as light is unable to pass through the crown creating an artificial look.
New all porcelain crowns made by the latest ‘Procera' CAD/CAM technology, allow light to pass through the crown and tooth so it is reflected naturally and ensures a natural life like appearance. As there is no metal content present, there is no corrosive black line at the margin making it more bio-compatible and aesthetic, but, still incredibly strong.
Full mouth reconstruction brings together some or all of the aspects of restorative dentistry including gum treatments (periodontics), moving teeth with braces (orthodontics), nerve and root treatments (endodontics), crowns and fixed bridgework (prosthodontics), removable bridgework and dentures (prosthetics), replacement teeth (implantology), bone grafting (oral surgery) and even cosmetic surgery to gain maximum health of the mouth, function and longevity of restorations and of course oral and facial aesthetics.
This technique does exactly as its name suggests – it spans the gap and replaces the missing teeth with carefully created matching porcelain teeth, which are fixed in place by attaching the porcelain teeth to the teeth each side of the missing tooth. This solution can look as natural as your existing teeth and can be virtually indistinguishable from them.
Often because of the shrinkage that occurs with tooth removal to improve the cosmetic appearance a small gum graft is placed prior to the bridge so that it appears the new tooth doesn’t just sit on the gum but comes out of it.
People, young and old, experience tooth loss for a variety of reasons. Tooth loss can be extremely damaging to confidence and self-esteem. People affected by tooth loss often find eating in public difficult and traumatic or are not confident about their smile.
New advances and technical innovations make it possible to replace missing single teeth permanently without treating or touching adjacent teeth. New implant techniques, such as Nobel Guide, allow the placing of the implant, abutment and restorative crown work to happen during the same visit.
The latest key-hole surgery techniques allow the dental surgeon to see the exact position and depth of the implant before the full surgery takes place, making the procedure safer and more predictable. Healing times are reduced and success rates previously in between 90% - 95% are now near 99%.
