Ken Harris B.D.S MFGDP (UK)

Ken Harris runs the award-winning Riveredge Dental Studio in the North-East of England, having graduated from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in 1982.

At the 2010 Smile Awards, Ken and his practice took home three awards including highly commended in Best Interdisciplinary Smile, highly commended in Generosity of a Smile and he also won best Conservative Composite Smile.

Komal Suri B.D.S

Dr Suri practices at the Smile Design Dental Practice in Buckinghamshire. She has won the award for the “Best Young Dentist in the South-East”. Komal spent a year as an NHS practitioner following her graduation from Leeds Dental School in 1999. After this year, in August 2000, and ever since, Dr Suri has been a private practice dentist.

Dr Suri is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the largest organisation of cosmetic dental professionals; she is also a full member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The British Dental Association and the British Dental Health Foundation.

Kailesh Solanki B.D.S

Kailesh Solanki is a graduate from Manchester University and in 2005, two years after his graduation, he opened his Kissdental practice in Manchester. His innovative demeanour with patients of a nervous disposition has seen Kailesh win The Private Dentistry Awards “Practice of the Year 2007” and has also been voted “Best Young Dentist North-West” in 2008.

Marius McGovern B.D.S

Marius McGovern works with his wife Debbie at the Liverpool Implant and Aesthetic Dental Spa, where he is the clinical director. He graduated from Liverpool University in 1995 and turned to private practice after years of NHS dentistry. Marius has won 6 Dentistry Awards since 2007 and has treated many of the North-West’s celebrity community including Paddy McGuiness and Liz McClarnon from Atomic Kitten.

Daz Singh B.D.S

Daz Singh is the co-Clinical Director of the Ollie and Darsh Practice in Liverpool alongside another member of the Tipton Training Alumni, Sudarsh Naidoo. Daz studied dental surgery in Liverpool and graduated in 2005. His innovative practice design, which he says helps provide “new age dentistry”, won him and his colleagues the Private Dentistry Awards’ “Most Attractive Practice 2009”.

Mark Emms L.D.S.R.C.S (Edin) MSc (UCL)

Mark Emms qualified in 1985 from Edinburgh’s Royal College of Surgeons and now owns the Priors Dental Clinic in Staffordshire, where he is Principal. Mark has a Masters Degree in Conservative Dentistry from the renowned Eastman Dental Institute in London, and since a major refurbishment of his practice in 2005, he and his team have won numerous awards including the Dentistry Awards “Midland’s Best Team” in 2008.

Marcos White B.D.S

Marcos White is the owner of The Courtyard dental practice in Huddersfield. He had previously worked for 10 years in dentistry, including at a practice in Sydney before setting up his own private practice. In 2009 his practice won The Dental Practice WOW! Award for “Best Small City/Large Town Practice”.

His expertise lies in Invisalign, smile makeovers, complex cases and bringing a renewed sense of confidence to his clients by providing great smiles. He is also passionate about providing outstanding customer service through the creation of a unique environment and taking the time to form a friendly and trusting relationship with each and every one of his clients.

Neil Wilson B.D.S MSc MFGDP(UK), MFDS RCPS(Glas), MRD RCS Edin

Neil Wilson is a Specialist in Prosthodontics who graduated from Manchester University in 1991. He moved to Birmingham to work at the Birmingham Dental Hospital and is now the Clinical Director at the Central England Specialist Referral Centre using his expertise in the field of implants and advanced restorative dentistry. His practice was the first practice outside London to acquire a Cone Beam CT scanner to allow 3D visualisation of a patients jaw, in 2006.

Mark Howdle B.D.S DGDP MDentSci. RCS Edin

Mark Howdle trained at the University of Birmingham where he graduated in 1989. In 1997 he started advanced Restorative Dental Training after 6 years of being Principal at a successful mixed practice and, began a Masters in Periodontics/Restorative dentistry in 1998. Dr Howdle is a member of the FACE@52 Team on Harley Street. Mark is also a Specialist in Periodontics.

Mark lectures internationally and also practices around the country as a referral dentist due to his vast skills in a wide reange of dental areas.

Robert Dyas B.D.S DCH MMedSci FDS RCS

Robert Dyas studied and graduated from Sheffield University in 1986.He is a Specialist in Oral Surgery, working at Pinderfields Hospital and then moving to London and then Sheffield. Robert has a private practice which specializes only in Oral Surgery and Implantology, placing over 500 implants a year.

Phil Broughton B.D.S

Phil Broughton graduated from Liverpool University in 1989. He is now Principal of the Mall Dental Care. Following several years as a general practice dentist, Phil was made the Chief Dental Officer for Shell UK, until he left to buy a number of his own practices.

Phil’s Pall Mall practice in the centre of Manchester is the main treatment centre for many of the North-West’s Premiership footballers who have gained oral injuries from matches. Phil also performed an emergency procedure on Daniel Craig after a stunt accident on set.

Chris Orr B.D.S BSc

Chris Orr graduated from the Queen’s University of Belfast and has now become one of the UK’s leading aesthetic and cosmetic dentists. He is the Past President of British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is also a course director for Advanced Dental Seminars.

He is a judge for the FMC Private Dentistry Awards which recognise excellence in private dental practice and is also Chairman of the judging panel of the FMC Smile Awards, which recognise clinical excellence in creating beautiful smiles.

Joe Oliver B.D.S

Joe Oliver graduated from Kings College Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry, London in 1987. He is the founder and principal cosmetic dentist at The Welbeck Clinic in London, after years of working in various London teaching hospitals where he gained an interest in cosmetic dentistry, having worked with victims of facial trauma.

Joe has appeared on television programmes such as Ten Years Younger, GM-TV and This Morning. Dr Oliver is also an article writer for The Sunday Times, The Daily Mail and OK, as well as a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and an examiner for the accreditation of cosmetic dentists on the board of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

David Houston B.D.S

David Houston is chairman of the 2009 Private Dentistry Awards. Having qualified from Dundee University in 1985, he has been a principal dentist for 19 years. His practice won the prestigious ITV/BDA Practice of the Millennium Award in 2000. Since then he has written a series of articles for Private Dentistry, for which he sits on the editorial board and Aesthetic Dentistry Today.

He was also voted Dentistry Magazines ninth most influential figure in UK dentistry 2007. David is joint principal of the largest ‘single site’ practice in the UK and he owns 2 dental laboratories. He is the retained dentist for ITV television and BBC Radio. Winner of Wow! Awards 2008, Cordent Trust Award 2003 and The Royal Odontochirugical Society of Scotland Award.

Mike Reece B.D.S

Mike Reece is the Principal of Reece Associates Dental Care Solutions in Sutton Coldfield which he runs with his wife Sara. He has placed an emphasis on education in oral health for children, leading to the creation of “Smilescool” which provides a non-clinical environment for children, making them feel more comfortable around dentists.

Dr. Kevin A. Lochhead B.D.S. MFGDP RCS Eng

Kevin Lochhead is a 1987 graduate from Kings College, London. He has dedicated 20 years of his life to post-graduate training and has represented the Association of Dental Implantology in Scotland. Dr. Lochhead's special interests lie in complex reconstruction, dental implants and cosmetic dentistry. He opened the Edinburgh Dental Specialists in 1993 with just two members of staff but he now has over forty staff members.

Dr Lochhead is a member The Academy of Osseointegration, The Association of Dental Implantology, the British Society of Restorative Dentistry, British Society of Periodontology, as well as many others.
